Our online applications use cookies. Cookies are text files that contain login information and allow you to automatically log into the system, giving you access to additional functionalities (e.g. no need to enter your password repeatedly). Social media plugins

Our website uses social media plugins to let you recommend and share articles on social media sites like Facebook, Twitter, Xing, LinkedIn, etc. Data are only shared with third parties when you click on one of the buttons or icons displayed on the website. SKIDATA has no influence on and no access to the cookies that are set by these social media sites.


Marketing cookies

We work with external service providers who place ads on their websites on our behalf.

Purpose: These service providers use cookies to track your use of and interaction with our website and our ads.

Remarketing with Google AdWords

We work with Google Remarketing AdWords to show ads on third-party websites to visitors to our websites.

Purpose: To avoid ad repetition, prevent and recognize click fraud, and show you relevant ads that relate to websites you have visited, Google uses cookies. Among other information, Google stores your web request, your IP address, the type and language of your browser, and the date and time of your request. Google also places one or more cookies that uniquely identify your browser. Google saves your data primarily to offer better services and for security reasons.

Remarketing via Facebook

We integrate a so-called Custom Audience Pixel (“pixel”), which is placed on our websites by Facebook Ireland Limited, 4 Grand Canal Square, Grand Canal Harbour, Dublin 2, Ireland (“Facebook”). This pixel collects data about how people use our websites (e.g. which pages you visited) and sends them to Facebook in hashed form.

Purpose: This data is used for statistical and market research purposes. This allows us to measure the effectiveness of our marketing campaigns on Facebook pages (conversion tracking) and to focus our advertising on groups created by Facebook. We can also show you advertisements in your Facebook feed that you might find interesting based on the websites you visit. If you use our website after visiting Facebook, we can only identify you and associate this information with your customer account if you submit an order, for example.

Google Analytics

Our website uses functions from the Google Analytics web analytics service. The provider is Google Inc., 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View CA 94043, USA. Google Analytics records website users’ interactions.

Are you required to give us your data?

In general, you are free to choose whether to share your personal data with us. However, certain information is required for proper processing by SKIDATA (e.g. for application management or to send out our newsletter). These required fields are marked as such. If you do not provide your data, we may be unable to send you our newsletter or process your application.


Who has access to your data?

In general, your data is only shared with those departments and employees who need to process it for the specific purpose indicated. In cases where data processors working for us (IT service providers, hosting companies, marketing agencies, etc.) have access to your data, we have established a data processing agreement with them that provides sufficient guarantees that the data processor will also handle your data confidentially and in compliance with the law.


How long do we keep your data?

If no explicit period is specified when we collect the data (e.g. when you give your consent), your personal data is deleted when it is no longer needed for record-keeping purposes, unless it cannot be deleted due to statutory retention requirements or professional duties of care to retain the data for the enforcement, exercise or defense of legal claims.

Any data that is not deleted is anonymized. This means that all personally-identifiable references are irreversibly deleted, thereby making data privacy regulations inapplicable.


What rights do you have?

demand that incorrect personal data be corrected;
demand that the personal data processed by SKIDATA be deleted, provided that the processing of your data by SKIDATA is based exclusively on your consent;
demand restrictions on the processing of personal data in certain cases;

opt out of the processing of your personal data by SKIDATA.
